Wednesday July 20th 2008 - One month Down.... only one more to go...
It's sad that summer is already half over. We've been much busier than I had thought we'd be. Here are some photos...totally out of order but they still sum up the last month.
Took this shot of Kendall and Dane before church one morning....just cause they looked so spiffy! Love Dane's little tie.
Kendall insisted on taking one of us (since my children rarely have photos of me WITH them). I'm the photo crazy one in my family so I'm always behind the lens! I love this though cause it's my favorite thing Dane does. When he gets a little shy or just wants to cuddle, he'll lay right down against my neck and hide his little head under mine! I hope he'll always be a cuddly boy!! (until he hits the teenage years of course!! Then I hope he hates to cuddle!).
This is Brooklyn with her "treasure box" from uncle Lorin. She's made it her own and lately carries it around like it's the most precious thing ever. She carried it around all day like this and inside was her: dragons, dora (little figurine) and the DS. She was crazy protective of them all. Strange assortment of treasures if you ask me but the girls and I thought it was funny that she was collecting everything that started with a "D"!!! Maybe this kid is smarter than I give her credit for.
Here's us earlier this week. Kendall took us golfing one night. This shot is Dane right before he pulls that chunk of hair out of Brookies head! This boy always has hair in his hands!
It was a beautiful night........
Mya sure loves Dane. It's actually sometimes a competition to see who likes to play with him most. What a spoiled little brother already!
Brooklyn obviously quite pleased that she actually hit the ball!
It was a little funny at times to watch these girls golf (I'm glad I used the excuse of needing to take a few pictures and then watch Dane.....so that I didn't have to embarrass myself!!)
Dane was a little monkey that night. Literally jumping out of my arms at times. He badly wanted to be down with all those bright balls.
Fun night. Girls had a good time.
Earlier in the week we also celebrated Uncle Jeremy's birthday. Yummy cake. Fun to spend time with family!! We also celebrated Kales bday this month which was a great party (thanks Meg and Shane!!!!!!), with a 6 foot sub and pinata too!!! Now that we know what a real party is, maybe next year Jeremy we'll get you a pinata!
We've also attended our local theatrical production of Beauty and the Beast. The girls totally loved it. So great! Here's a shot with Belle and Lefu (or whatever Gaston's side kicks name is). In real life he is Ava's swimming teacher and is seriously the funniest kid I've met!!! Our girls sure love Ricky!
We also went to the Magrath parade one day. Awesome parade. Tons of candy. Amazing feast afterwards at Kendall's sisters place!
Had a little incident with loosing Brooklyn. Not something I'd normally brag about but the funny part of it all is Brooklyn is sure not going to let me forget it. I thought she was right behind me and turned around and she was gone. She had gone in the opposite direction. Luckily someone recognized her and brought her back. Scariest feeling in the world. Now whenever she does something wrong or is about to get in trouble she'll say "My lost at parade" and burst into tears. Clearly she'll be using this against me for some time!
The past couple weeks our girls have been in swimming lessons. They love it. They've become great little swimmers. It's been a long couple weeks and just a couple days are left. I take them all down to the pool and we wait there for an hour and a half each day. Makes for some long (napless) mornings but oh well. I should really get a shot of Ava one of these days (it's hard to do with Dane in my arms!) She's doing flips off the diving board! Mya goes off the board too (with a life jacket) and both are finally learning not to plug their noses under water).
Our little Brooklyn is a total fish. She scares me! We usually have to head back to the pool in the afternoon just so she can have a chance to swim too. She'll dive for rings and do somersaults under water.
We hosted a block party the other night. Had a fun time. Also watched our little neice Aubrey. What a cutie! Definately a mama's girl and knew I was nothing close to that but she gave some good cuddles anyway and was all smiles as soon as her Mom was back in range!
She's a cutie and it will be fun to see these two play as they get older!
Anyway, we've got a fun trip to Nauvoo planned. We can't wait. Dane will finally get to meet his Grandma and Grandpa in person and we really look forward to seeing them of course(they're serving a mission there) but also excited to see what this trip will do for our girls little budding testimonies!!
