Friday December 14 2007 - OH BOY!!!
I have a few minutes so I decided to post a couple shots of our sweet little boy. He was born 10 days late, though delivery was VERY fast.... and he had to spend a little time in the NICU afterward but all is well and we are so glad he's finally with us. He was 8 lbs 12 oz and 22.5 in length. He is such a good baby. We so love having a boy!!!!!!!!! Here is Dane Henry Hardy......
Dane loves to be held and I love it when he curls in a ball on my chest for a nap. He is spoiled with lots of loves from his sisters as well. He's a great little eater, and sleeps well (and I'm learning to adjust to the lack of sleep....as he's a little more alert right now at night vs. during the day). He is seriously the sweetest little boy ever! We cannot stop gushing over him!!!!!
Last night we went to our ward party. It was a Night in Bethlehem where we had to dress up and reenact that special night. They wanted Dane to be baby Jesus. Originally they wanted Kendall and I to be Mary and Joseph as well, until they forgot that they had already previously asked Kendall to be a Wise Man and sing with a trio as well as a solo part. I was a little worried taking him out in public so soon but he did well!!! So, we handed off our little man for the program. He did really well (considering he was WIDE awake). I tried to have him asleep but he was too interested in what was going on. He was a little squirmy and we could tell that Mary had to work a little up there to keep him happy but at least he didn't cry through the program. Here's a shot of Kendall singing his part as a Wise Man and you can barely see our little Dane being held by "Mary". It was a nice program. It sure is a special thing to have a little baby around Christmas. My favorite thing is just sitting by the Christmas tree, cuddling him. I am so humbled at the gift we've been given for Christmas this year and in the years past.
So, needless to say, there's still a lot to do before Christmas, still gifts to buy, and maybe even some baking...but really, nothing seems to matter at all to me this year as we've already received such a special gift. I am so thankful for the reason for this season, for our Brother Jesus Christ, who's birth we celebrate, who is the Light, the Life and the Way!!!!!!!
