Friday January 4 2008 - OUR HOLIDAYS
The holidays have been so fun...but they are flying by so fast. I wish I could rewind and start all over. How on earth am I going to be able to get kids ready for school with lunches.... in just a few days. We badly need to get back into a routine, but I'm wondering how that's going to happen. Pretty much, this picture of me sums up all I do....(warning..picture contains view of jammies and bedhead...viewer discretion is advised!).
We've visited lots with family, but it's nice that we've stayed home this year and didn't have to travel to see anyone. Santa even payed us a visit this year and the girls were pretty happy about that. Here's a few shots of what we've been up to.......
-Lots of fun going to free Family Skate in the evenings.
Brooklyn unfortunately no longer wants to just ride on the sled...so that makes things interesting with 4 children (who are still "learning to skate") and only 2 of us. I seriously have to just look away most times cause it's just to painful to watch but Ava and Mya are getting a lot better and we are determined to go as much as we can so that they can learn!
- We've made a few gingerbread houses. The most recent ones were a complete disaster but still fun to make. Here's Brooklyn's masterpiece.
Tried to play dress up with Dane....(what a mean mom)..
- Had fun playing the Wii with cousins and Brooklyn had fun with her cousin Brett's "cool tar" as she would put it. It was great to visit with Kendall's siblings and their families. Seriously so fun to get these cousins together!!
- Got to visit with Great Grandma and Grandpa Hardy one afternoon for a bit. We sure missed our grandparents this Christmas!
- Spent New Years with my side of the family. You guys are all awesome!!! Everyone came here for a sleep over and food and games. Thanks again everyone for coming and doing so much while I sat around lazy! And thanks for the shots you took with your camera Chad (I think Santa got our houses mixed up cause a new Camera was on my list.....what happened???)
- Kendall finally broke out his Sushi kit I gave him for Christmas 2 years ago (I'm so glad he loved it so much!). Here he's making california rolls. Mmmmm!!! They were sooo yummy. And thanks to his brother Lorin, we were able to find a good store in Lethbridge which sold sushi grade salmon etc. Yum yum. - My New Years Resolution is to ensure that Kendall is in the kitchen cooking more good food!!!
- And after all that eating, Kendall did open up the school's gym for some fun physical activity. I love this shot of Mya. She is always skipping around the house and this shot reminds me of her sweet golden locks, bouncing up and down as they always do......
- Lots of playing the DS. Sure hope that Tyson will come back to visit. I think he was a little scared of Brooklyn.
She's been given the name "Brooke-lauden" (for her "terror" type tendencies). But seriously, we love her and how could you not just love someone so cute .....
- As the holidays come to an end, we move closer to Ava's birthday in January....and this year she is turning 8. I can't believe it. Where did the past 8 years go? She's pretty excited to be baptised and no doubt we'll be focussing on that for FHE's this month!!!
- And speaking of a month....look who's just over 1 month old now. Dane is growing so fast. I took him in yesturday and he's already 10 lbs 5 oz and 24 inches long.
He is so cute and we just love him so much. We've been waiting for him to join us for a long time and it's so sweet to see the girls gush over him and take turns giving him loves! Here are a few more pictues of our sweet little man....
So from our family to yours...we hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Holiday and we wish you all the very best in the New Year to come!!!!! (Brookies hair was in cute piggies but as usual, she pulled them out...just in time to snap this shot!!!)
