Friday June 20 2008 - Wow!
That's about all I can say about these past couple weeks. Where have they gone???? Time is totally flying away on us and we are doing our best to keep up.
First, we love having Lorin come down and make us his yummy Gyoza's! Seriously delicious. He was nice enough to leave some for us too so that's on the menu tonight!!! Thanks again Lorin. You were so generous to do ALL that!!!! And that chili oil is to seriously AMAZING!!! To die for!
Great news in our fam! We've got a new baby cousin. Ray and Krissy had sweet little Lily join their family this week. She is a doll and we love everything about her....except of course for how far away she lives!!! Hmmmm....hello summer (hopefully...hello travelling!!!!).
What else is new with us....???......
Mya could have got her cast off today. I didn't get the call in time and we had plans this afternoon so we'll do it Monday hopefully! Poor girl! I'm scared for what it will look (and smell) like when it comes off. She's been a real little trooper and is back riding her bike around the neighborhood like a mad woman!
She had her friend party today and we'll do a family dinner on Sunday (for her real bday). She had 5 girls come over and had a great time. She did a Tea Party theme this year. Thanks to bargain barn, we even used real china (and no cares in the world as they clanged them around cause they weren't my precious china!!!!!)
We love her oh so much. I hope to get a little montage done for her bday along with everything else needing to get done but we'll see how cooperative Dane is!!! Love how everything lingers on HIM!!!!
I've often thought of my parents and what kind of influence they have in my children's' lives even after they've passed on. There have been times when I've thought....I'm sure they are aware of what our little family is going through and I don't doubt their presence!! I'll probably be surprised one day to know just how close they were! Anyway, just as Kendall's parents are serving a mission right now in Nauvoo and continue to influence all of our lives.....I can't help but know that my parents too are influencing us all. So this past weekend....I was reminded that not only do I have angels helping me from another realm.....there are angels right here among us and this past weekend that angel was Auntie Megan!!! My heart is beating again even as I type. We were at the baseball games this past weekend for Youth Days. Lots of fun. Someone had asked me about Mya's broken arm and I was talking with them and my back was to Mya (and the road). Mya decided she'd run across the street to her Dad at the van and just bolted. Didn't even think to look both ways. Before I even knew she wasn't still beside me.... I heard Megan yell as loud as she could "Mya". It startled us all....but most importantly it startled Mya, enough to make her STOP. She was just a few feet from being hit by a car. I was more upset at the time and then relieved that she wasn't hit. Thankfully it was an old man, going slow...and reacted on time.... or it would have been so bad. As I tucked her in at night, I couldn't help but feel huge gratitude for Megan and for her quick thinking to stop her from the danger that was just feet away. I'm grateful for angels....all over....who seem to step in when I need it most!
Here's a little clip of us singing happy bday to Mya at her party today (though Brookie stole the show!!!)
I LOVE THIS GIRL!!!
