Monday May 5 2008 - WE SURVIVED

I have no pictures to prove it but we survived our first night of soccer. All I can say is WOW. Nothing like seeing people literally flood the field. I think I heard there were just under 500 children signed up to play this year. Ava and Mya are both playing and luckily play after each other. It makes for a long night. Especially out in the wind....but we did it. I was mostly worried about Dane but I wore him in a sling and used a blanket to shelter him from the wind as best as he could. It was a fun time. I braced myself for a crazy night and was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't even believe how patient Brooklyn was! At supper after we finished the prayer, she was quite unhappy that we weren't "thankful for how Brooklyn played soccer". We'll have to remember that for next week. She completely thinks she was playing soccer tonight as well. Here's a few shots we've taken this past little bit......
Dane is totally doing the wounded soldier crawl. We officially can't leave him on a bed or couch or anywhere else he could possibly roll off of....including Daddy's head. These two are great buds already.
So Kendall made a trip to the city this past weekend and I decided last minute to paint this bench we've had in our garage that my sister had given us AGES ago (Thanks Crystal!). Here's Mya helping at the start. She was pretty disappointed that we weren't painting it pink like our little picnic bench in the backyard! I had a few concerned neighbors wondering if I knew what I was really doing!
But, if you don't look too close, it looks pretty good I think. And now we have a yearly project for our children to continue. Kendall just LOVES repainting things so you have to keep doing it year after year (heavy on the sarcasm there!!!!). At least Ava makes that 'ol bench look good! This is her after walking home from church. We LOVE the warmer weather we've been having lately.
I took a shot of these two. Brooklyn asks daily to hold Dane....and tells me instantly, "Let go... my hold Dane". At least this shot appears as though he is enjoying it (vs. the usual terror look I get as I pass him off!). It's so fun to be home with these two all day (some days are longer than others but it is fun!). Oh, and we've been looking for a piano for a couple months now and Kendall put his foot down and decided on a Digital one. I haven't even seen it yet. (I knew I should have braved the noisy kids and went to the city with him!!!). We are really excited to have a piano soon, even if it's not a great big upright like I learned on! There's something about having music in our home that really excites me!!!
