Monday October 29 2007 - STICKY TREAT

No wonder we only do this once a year.....all that work! And nothing but half eaten wasted apples at the end ....but it sure was fun and tasted good (until all that sugar kicked in!) And there's a nice sticky trail left (thanks to Brooklyn) as proof of all the fun we had tonight!

On another note...I thought I'd share this awesome new find!!! Now and then I venture into our little Bargain Barn here (thrift store) to see what I can find. I was actually looking for computer speakers (thinking surely someone out there has gotten rid of old speakers) and then, I came across this.......

I know this might seem like nothing at all...but it immediately reminded me of my Grandma Toone's old dish....only it's not green. My grandma had a dish on legs (as I put it) quite similar to this, only it was green with tints of rainbow colors depending on how you looked at it. It was a beautiful dish, but what was even better, was that she always served her yummy Pineapple Cheese Jello in it. Seriously my favorite thing in the whole world. Anyway, I've always wanted to get a bowl like hers and well, I guess that was just my lucky day. It's so strange how happy I am over his bowl. I'll open my cupboard and just look at it and literally smile to myself. Is that weird? I LOVE it. It's only held pineapple cheese jello once so far, but I look forward many many more servings. So, just goes to show that that saying out there is true...."someones junk is anothers treasure".... or something like that.
