Saturday June 23, 2007 - FIVE YEARS ALREADY
So, Mya's birthday has finally come and gone. She has been anticipating this day for literally 2 months now. This past week was especially funny as she'd say (out of the blue), "Mom, do you want me to go to my room for the morning and you could stay down here and wrap a present for me?" She'd have been happy with a roll of lifesavers, just so long as it was wrapped and she could "open" it. Silly girl. Anyway, heres' a picture from the day. We had such a great time. We were even surprised by Grandma and Grandpa driving all the way up to be there! Such fun! Thanks Leslie for booking it at the lake. It was the perfect spot. Mya was so spoiled!!!! Hope your weekends were as fun as ours was. Kendall and the girls are gone to the mountains all day. They'll probably get home after 8pm tonight. He had BETTER take pictures of their fun Daddy Daughter Day. So stay tuned....hopefully we'll have more to share.
It was a little windy, so she didn't really get to blow out her candles...but she sure tried to before the wind did it!!!! They had fun digging for their treasures in the sand.
Brooklyn kept us all busy (thanks everyone for your help with her). She is all about...go go go....and either wanted to be in the water, or at the park on the slide or swing. And don't even think about convicing her otherwise!!!I can't believe Mya is already 5. I remember the anxiety I'd feel, especially many many sleepless nights...staying up being so worried about her rocky little start to life being a premie and wondering how this would affect her in years to come. I wish I knew then (and would have at least had better sleeps at night) knowing how sweet and tall and spunky she would be in just 5 years down the road!!! She is such a special little girl, a very important part of our family, who brightens each day!!! Besides cousins, Mya invited a little friend of ours and requested that she also invite two of Ava's friends. She sure looks up to Ava and likes to be a part of Ava's little circle of friends as well.
So fun, and best part of all, they fell asleep in no time after the party!!!!!!! Thanks everyone for all you gave her....including our families who weren't able to be there but still made sure she had a special day through gifts and cards and emails and calls.
Love you all!!!!!!
