Sunday November 18 2007 - FEW THOUGHTS
Just sitting here today, thinking and decided to put a few thoughts down. I've been filled with so much emotion these past few weeks, and I can't even blame it all on being pregnant. I am so filled with Gratitude. Here are a just a few things (in no particular order) that make me so grateful.........
- Family.
- For a wonderful Husband and Best Friend!
Truly one of the things that makes me feel most happy. Grateful for 3 sweet girls. Humbled daily at how much I have yet to learn and how hard I must work to be worthy of them.
- Extended family is just as important to us. For brothers and sisters....who are now great aunts and uncles and also cousins who add extra excitement and laughter to our family!
- For the Gospel and Testimony I have. Particularly touched this morning as the girls practice their Primary Presentation songs and hear their tiny voices singing this song....... which has always brought me comfort to know that My Redeemer Lives:
"I know that my Redeemer Lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, he lives who once was dead. He lives, my ever living Head. He lives, to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above. He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need.
He lives to grant me rich supply. He lives to guide me with his eye. He lives to comfort me when faint. He lives to hear my soul's complaint. He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears. He lives to calm my troubled heart. He lives all blessings to impart.
He lives, my kind, wise heavenly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end. He lives and while he lives I'll sing. He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King. He lives and grants me daily breath. He lives, and I shall conquer death. He lives my mansion to prepare. He lives to bring me safely there.
He lives! All glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same. Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives: "I know that my Redeemer lives!" He lives! All glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same. Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:"I know that my Redeemer lives".
- Grateful for Temples and now the opportunity we have to live so close and can attend more often. To quote the Temple President....our lives are filled with "Over Rated Pleasures, and Under Rated Treasures". The Temple is one of these under rated treasures!!!
- Grateful for a tummy that really doesn't fit behind my desk to type my jobs anymore (for that precious gift inside, we are anxiously waiting for!!!) (Brooklyn swiped the camera again and stole this shot of me working the other morning. Grateful that she's actually getting better at taking photos...as long as she's steeling my camera, she may as well get a shot other than the roof or floor).
- Grateful for parents. My very own angel parents who now continue to influence my life from another realm and also for my husbands parents, who are also serving a mission together, for their examples to us.
- Grateful for the Country we live in. The many freedoms we enjoy.
- Grateful for good schools, and teachers and friends.
- Grateful for good food and a comfortable home to live in.
-Grateful for hands (and healthy body) that allow me to accomplish the duties and tasks I need to.
And for other little hands (Brookie) who seem to always sabotage the daily duties I try hard to accomplish. (this child cannot be left alone in a room with raw dough! Sick!).
-Grateful for healthy children (especially after consuming raw dough).
- Grateful for nice weather and then cold days....which help me appreciate the warmer days!
I could go on and on. As I look more at the things I have to be grateful for in my life, I cannot even imagine why some days I seem to be worried about what I don't have.
