Tuesday September 18 2007 - WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...
Well, it's been a while so I thought I'd update my blog for all the MILLIONS out there that really care! ha ha. I'm actually excited to get more paper and try printing my entries so far (as sort of a journal.....anyone done this before? Does it work?).
First, and most exciting news.... Kendall's parents got their mission call....to Nauvoo! So exciting. I can't wait to have a fun FHE on it. Our girls don't really get how far that will be and I'm sure it hasn't sunk in for them yet. Mya's comment was that they are going to Nauvoo and that's a different country! It's bitter sweet, we'll miss having Grandma and Grandpa so close but will be so excited for the experiences they'll be able to share and the way this will bless our whole family by having them serve. Anyway, so that's the most exciting news. The rest of this blog entry will seem pretty "bla" in comparison with that news with not much else exciting to report! I am however getting BIGGER and BIGGER and this baby is getting stronger and stronger and has taken up space in my left rib/lung area!!!! Ouch.
A couple weeks ago I went to Time Out for Women in Calgary. It was nice to be back in the Metropolis of Calgary and great to see Leslie and Johy and Megan there as well as so many old friends (and even cousins) there!!! Of course it was great sharing the day with my sisters (we missed Heather....that brat of a husband of hers apparently "had to work". I suppose someone has to keep Tim Hortons in buisness. jokes).
Another highlight of that day was skipping out of the last tiny bit of the conference and going up to Mom and Dad's grave. It was nice to be there together. Sweet to reminisce. (Hence the teary eyes in the photo of us together!!!!). It would be nice to be closer to their graves so I could take my children more often...but we'll just have to make that a priority when we go up there.
On the long weekend (what was that holiday anyway.... don't expect this blog in chronological order?) we went to Waterton with Grandma and Grandpa and Megan and her kids just for the afternoon. We enjoyed an awesome picnic and had fun just playing and enjoying the beautiful day there together. Here's a couple fun shots of Kendall with his cute girls!!!! They tried to copy our cousin Randi and her friend Blake's little rock tower (from earlier this summer)....
Not a bad job but pretty little compared to Randi and Blakes!!!
Let's see...what else is new....we've had family come down to visit us. I even got to babysit Chaim when Crystal and Jeremy went to the Temple. For the record (Tanis and Chad)... he likes me best. He was so good...you guys really should leave him way more often Crystal! Perhaps it was the overwhelming wealth of "girl toys" that kept him preoccupied. Sorry Jeremy, but I hope you aren't opposed to your son playing with these......
We had a good time together and luckily I snagged a shot of them all that night before Tanis and John left....
I tell ya...we sure miss having our cousins so close. In fact... just this morning as I was taking Ava and Mya to school, out of the blue Ava asks "So, are we going to see any other cousins today? Like Tanner or Maddie...we never see them anymore do we". So sad. We definitely miss ALL our cousins!!!!!!!!
Just this weekend, we got to see Chad and Heather and their kids. We enjoyed you visit. Uncle Chad managed to tease Ava and Mya (almost to tears due to fright at times) and I just barely found all the cookies he hid. I had made a big tupperware full and when we got home, it only had crumbs. I was seriously thinking not so nice thoughts about you Chad, until I found them late last night. Jokes. But I really did think you took them for on the way home. He took these cute shots of my girls on Saturday night. This is something my girls are quite accustomed to now....digging for WORMS!!!!
Kendall has 8 salamanders at his school (he had 10 but 2 students took one home for a pet. Hopefully more will do the same cause I can't see digging for worms when it gets much cooler here). These once prim and proper little girls sure love getting dirty and playing with worms. Who needs a boy when these 3 get this dirty already!!! I love this shot of Ava. Not sure why. She's just getting so old. She helped me (in her own "helping way" make that top she is wearing. I just love the style right now.....of long baggy (maternity almost looking) tops. I hope for my sake (and my girls) this stays in style for a LONG LONG time!!!!). And this shot of Brookie Lan is pretty darling too. I just want to pick her up and kiss those cheeks and little neck! She's got that little mischievous look about her too!
Oh, and of course, here's the outcome of the worms they dug this weekend......
Brookie loves Daddy's salamanders at school. She's so cute, she calls them "froggies". Anytime we get in the van...she'll ask "froggies mama?" and I tell her...no not today...and she'll wine a little and hold out her hand and point and say "hand...hand..." in the most pleading voice. She loves to go to his class. We barely pull up to his school and she's kicking her legs and squealing in excitement. It's hilarious. So here they are...holding the "froggies". They are free....for anyone wanting one!!!! (the sooner I can get these girls to stop digging in the mud... the happier I'll be).
Oh, and I almost forgot....just this past Saturday, Kendall and the girls went on the Terry Fox Run in town (though they rode their bikes). They had so much fun and Mya did a great job keeping up with them. Since I don't have a bike yet, I opted to be the "cheer-er 0n-er" and Brooklyn had to join me (much to her dismay). Though we did get some cleaning and weeding done while they were gone. Love this shot of the two of us....can't really call it a bad hair day when we both didn't even do our hair!!! (I just wish I looked as cute as my girls do when they don't do there hair. Why is it that they are still so cute even with flat hair and fly aways in every direction!!! Not fair.).
Anyways, that's a ton of shots and some little insights on what we are doing. The girls are still loving school and are getting more and more excited for this new little baby to arrive. Now if I could just get Brookie potty trained before then....I'd be thrilled!!
