Wednesday August 29 2007 - SUCH A GOOD DAY
I am so relieved that today went so well. The girls did fabulously!!!! It was an early start but we made it to school on time (even Brookie had to have a backpack on this morning! Notice our little nose picker. I often take a couple extra shots just in case to avoid the finger in the nose but apparently I missed the boat on this one. Ooops. Only shot with Brookie in it though!!)
They enjoyed going to their new school and they both seem to have awesome teachers!!! I am just so excited for them! Here's Mya being her regular silly self any time a camera comes out. I love it though!
I can't believe they'll both be in school. Mya didn't have anyone she knew in her class but that's OK cause I don't think she really cares anyway. It will be so fun to meet more friends. And Ava didn't know anyone in her class either (which is crazy considering all the little neighbors and friends that we know that are her age) but I thought I heard there were 4-5 grade two classes. How crazy is that! But she was thrilled when we found out that she actually does have a friend in her class....a long lost friend in fact who used to live in Okotoks. We are so thrilled not only to be in the same ward...but now the same class with none other than sweet Savanah Hunter!! I couldn't be happier!!! What a sweet family!!! So fun to see these two together again. Ava was so sad after Savanah moved away after Kindergarden and now a year later.....they'll share another year and hopfully many more!!!
The only thing that would make this whole experience just PERFECT...is if Grandma and Grandpa were still in charge of the hot lunch program at the school with all their yummy healthy homemade lunches and breakfasts. Now that would have totally simplified my life! Jokes. I'm even excited to start making lunches again. I'm sure that will wear off soon though!!! We are thrilled to be close to Grandma and Grandpa though. The girls plan to ride their bikes tomorrow and we'll pass right by their house every day. So fun!
Mya has finally mastered learning to ride her bike without training wheels which has given her a whole new life. She now hangs out with the big kids on our block, riding around till I am begging them to come inside. We are loving this neighborhood. It was so cute tonight as I watched this little group of them (about 6 kids) go across the street to the neighbors and all of them climb up the stairs and you could just see them trying to decide which one of them would ask to see if they could ride their bikes on our neighbors new huge basketball pad and also see if they could play in their piles of dirt behind their house. It's so cute to watch them play together and have so much fun.
