Wednesday August 8 2007 - Rausch Family's take on USA
Well, I have a memory stick full of great shots from our little holiday to the states...but sadly...our computer died. It lived a good life (almost 6 years so that's good in the computer world I guess). We've already moved on to bigger and better but havent' yet had time to discover if my pictures file was affected at all. And apparently this new computer has no little slot for my nice little memory stick....so I'm going to have to talk to Kendall about that cause that's a big problem now!!! The old computer drive containing all my transcription work was totally wiped out (perhaps virus???)...but man, if I lost all my photos....I just try not to think about it. Hopefully in the next day or two we can go through the old computer and get off all the important stuff (like email addresses and blog addressess....everything I just put on my "favorites list" and now can't seem to find so easy.
Oh well. Not that big of a deal really (unless you are incapable of adapting well to change...especially if it involves technology of any sort).
So no pictures this post....but just imagine some perfect shots...darling looking kids...happy and having so much fun and there you'll have it. It flew by. The girls travelled wonderfully (it's only 3 hours away but seriously...I was worried how Brookie Lan would do!). We hit Big Sky Waterslides and I was a little bummed that I couldn't ride the slides this year...but next year. We also hit a beautiful lake...forgot the name of it...."foyse" or something like that...and man, was it beautiful and so warm!!!
We had fun shopping of course. I could have used a little more cash but we got some fun stuff and I had to remind myself that I can come back someday!
We scored with the house we stayed at....huge home....each of us (4 familiies) had our own large room and our kids could be close by still which was nice for us (who have children with separation issues). I would definately stay there again!!!
Overall, a solid 8 on a fun holiday scale (only lacking in the money department!!! I would have loved to have decorated my new home with fun stuff but we would have also had to have bought a trailer to carry it all home in!!!).
So now we are home and it's back to real life and crappy computers!!! I hate them but I sure can't live without one for very long.
Brooklyn is now a terrible two!!! She got a new bike for her birthday and loves to just wear her helmet around (she's always liked hats (fireman hat, dress up hats)...or helmets the girls had) but she is in heaven with her own that actually fits her tiny little head. She'll wake up and put it on and just carry on with it all day. I have to preoccupy her just to sneak it off her head. We got her a little bike and she'll head to the door leading to the garage and just say "bye mom" and try to leave just to ride her bike. She LOVES it. I'm almost excited as she is about it...except when I'm trying to get her to go to sleep and she's throwing a fit cause she can't ride!!!
Ava and Mya are starting swimming lessons next week which should be fun. Man, every day for 2 weeks. I hope I can handle it! Ooops, er.. um... I mean, I hope they can handle it! It's not like I have to get in the water with them....but it's just that nasty "S" word that I don't know if I'm ready for yet. You know...."schedule". It's been so nice to just fly be the seat of our pants and do whatever...whenever!!!
