Wednesday June 4 2008 - Lots going on...

So it's been a while since I've blogged last. Lots has been happening. Most exciting we've had 2 cousins be married this past month as well as a new baby cousin born (my sister had a baby boy!!!). Anyway, so it seems like lately there's always been something fun going on. Here's a couple shots from Ava's track and field day. How fun. We all went to cheer her on. In this picture, I ran up to sneak a shot and the gun went off to start the race right as I was taking the picture. I had to say "oh, sorry Ava....run.....run!!!". So, she lost that one but she had a lot of fun. It's funny cause at this age she still isn't' into the whole competition thing and was just as happy to do the task and hurry back to play with friends. It was a great day and Dane slept in his sling the entire time. Thanks buddy!!
So I missed taping the first jump she did where she made it, but I got this one on tape. Looks like we'll have to hold off on the Beijing Summer games this time around!! he he. It's those darn legs.....no wonder her nickname is "legs". So I was reading my brothers blog and quite enjoyed this last post. He was quite humble and shared a bit of an embarrassing story....being the fish "legend" that he was. Chad, I think you should post more embarrassing moments. I can't even tell you how much I love reading them. So being the humble sister I am....I thought I'd share my own little embarrassing story. So this weekend we attended our cousin TJ and his wife Megan's wedding. Beautiful day. Wonderful time. So I had ordered a shirt on line. My first ever experience with that. They had a promotion going on so I bought what I could. This top was on sale for a good price so decided to try it. I received it a few days before the wedding but never got around to trying it on. So last Sat. morning as I'm rushing around to get things done before going to the Temple, I literally got dressed at the very last minute. Looked for the tag in the back, threw on the shirt, looked a few times at it thinking "hmmm....this is different" but being completely out of the loop fashion wise I just figured this was the new "style" so I tied the little sash thing around my neck and ran out of the room. So I went on the rest of the day......with my shirt this way (little loop in front). Here's a shot I cropped so that you get the idea?
So we carried on the entire day like this. Even got a few family photos. I quite like the family one with Mya. So typical when it comes to taking pictures with her lately! Sweet little girlies!
Here is a shot of Kendall teaching Dane how to "give 5". Dane totally does it. It's pretty cute. He also tickles him after each time so from my psychology class days....it's a perfect example of Classic Conditioning. (is that what it's called?).
Obviously I'm biased...but I love this little dude!
Anyway, so the next day is church. I decided to wear the same top. I check for the tag...and put it on. This time that loop is in the back. I thought I was wrong so I took it off and did a re-do. Again, the loop is in the back. So now I'm really confused and I look really closely (while it's still on me) and sure enough, tag is in the back. HOW EMBARRASSING. I could only just look at myself in the mirror and laugh and laugh....until I decided it must have been Kendall's fault... for allowing me to walk around ALL day like that!!! He was lucky he was at meetings all morning. It wasn't until later that night that I remembered and told him and he said "ya, I thought it looked a little different". HELLO???? WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING? That's like letting me walk around all day with my zipper down or slip showing! Anyway, lesson learned!!! So here's a couple shots from Soccer. It was a windy night... and kinda cold despite how nice out it looks. Brookie thinks she's a soccer player too. It makes for a very busy night but we are really enjoying it so far. And HUGE welcome to our newest little cousin. Oscar! We can't wait to meet you.
