Monday November 20 2006 - Where Did The Weekend Go......
Well, we had a great weekend but it flew by. Sort of sad to have to return to the routines of things this morning. Friday night I caught our girls doing a bit of this.....
and this....
I had asked for a little bit of help cleaning up and this is what I caught them doing so I had to sneak a couple of shots. (I meant "clear the table" but I guess I shouldn't complain!). The front of our dishwasher and daddy's guitar case have never looked so good!!!
Friday night Ava was invited to her cousins house to watch a movie so Mya wanted to do something fun. I told her we could do whatever she wanted (and got Brooklyn down to sleep for the night). This is the result...
Playing dress up while dancing around as we watched the "12 Dancing Princesses" (a must see for you parents of princesses of your own!) It's funny how as I now look at this photo, I find myself reflecting. My mom actually made the dress I am wearing for herself (for some wedding she was a bridesmaid in) and then later on down the road when she had children of her own, she made us 3 matching little dresses. Silly material really, but I love knowing that it was her hands that created them and that even today, they are still enjoyed. Only this time, by me and MY OWN little daughters. Just causes me to reflect on time.... and how precious it really is!
We had our first babysitter Saturday night while we attended the adult session of Stake Conference. (I know...I know... but it's not like we NEVER go out... it's just that when we do... we've just left our kids with family). There is a young woman in our ward who our girls had asked if she could come babysit... so we decided to actually try it out! Quite the ordeal at our house but I was so relieved when I got home to happy little girls... two of which wanted us to go back to the church.
Kisses are a big deal in our house lately. Brooklyn has quickly caught on to the routine of giving "good bye kisses" and "night time kisses". When someone leaves or when we say...let's go to bed... she'll immediately pucker up to give her kisses. I love these little pucker lips of hers...
As our missionaries were leaving our house after supper last night and we were saying good bye, she ran up to one Elder with her puckered lips. So funny! He did what any proper young man would do....and asked to shake her little hand instead!!!
Oh, and before I forget, Chad, I hope the commnet section works on this post. We'll see, but in answer to your question earlier... no, there are no cookies for you. I would love to have posted your new blog though, it's far more entertaining than mine (wait a second... that was a compliment wasn't it.... well, looks like I've hit my quota for the year!!!! enjoy that!)
We also broke out an old Christmas present before bed last night. It's one of those "lots of peices with choking hazard type things" that I don't usually do on my own (and well, lets be honest, Daddy is better at building it than me.....)
So that was our weekend. We also enjoyed watching a special televised Canada Wide Conference from Salt Lake (on Sunday) and being able to visit with our family there!! (it's so great to have family all over!) It was so awesome to be a part of the special messages given. What a blessing it is to be a part of this Gospel. So as I reflect upon the last few days, I think I could sum up this weekend in one simple word.....Grateful!
