Wednesday July 16 2008 - FEW PICS....

Image
Thought I'd hurry and post a few pics from the past couple of weeks. We did some fun geocache's with our family and uncle Lorin. Girls had a great time. Thanks Lorin for all the great pics you took. Actually, all pictures in this post are courtesy of either Kendalls brother Lorin or my brother Chad. That would be my dream, to have someone else capture great photos...and document times like these of my family (however I'd be scared to have my brother document such events so for now I'll just plug away at it!). Thanks though you guys! The pics aren't in order. Here's how we treated ourselves after our hard earned search for treasures! I tried to only use pictures that wouldn't give away exact locations of geocaches! (that and I also chose my favorites! Love this one of Kendall and Mya with the field in the background. It was a beautiful night! Love the hair. I actually do it....some days. This wasn't one of those days though! :) Dane is definitely more...

July 1 2008 - CaNaDa DaY

We've had a fun week. Kendall was gone for 4 days (that was not FUN) and we were on our own. But luckily our neighbor has one of these lovely contraptions and let us join in one day. Today is CANADA's Birthday!!!! Such a fun day here....and it all began with the parade in Raymond. Thanks Dennis and Leisel for letting our girls bud in front of you so they could get some candy. Great to see you all there!!!Thanks Taylie and everyone else for helping Brooklyn gather some loot. She wasn't nearly as aggressive as I thought she'd be. Shocking! Luckily her big sisters were looking out for her too!The day started out pretty rainy and we almost didn't even go. By the time the parade began, I was kicking myself for not bringing the sunscreen! Great turn out I thought. It was about 40 minutes long. Then we came home in time to rest and gear up for an evening of fun down at the park. Kendall and Mya stood in line FOREVER for this nasty treat. Yuck. Oh to be little again and ...

Tuesday June 24 2008 - Pay it Forward

So I forgot I have to do something on my blog since I was the lucky winner on Tanis's blog a week or so ago. Thanks to her....I am steadily gaining weight on that tasty fudge she brought me! Thanks A LOT TANIS!!!!! (You just don't want to share your clothes with me do you??) Anyway, so I've been thinking a lot today about the whole idea of paying it forward. Our little community here witnessed something amazing last night. I just feel so privileged to have been there to see it. Seriously, I couldn't get over the size of the line up of people waiting (and HAPPILY waiting at that!). Not often you'll find people waiting in a line for an hour... just for a hot dog or burger, and hear no complaining about the speed that line was moving! Anyway, here's who the fundraiser was for.... and that's the even more amazing part! http://camcor.vox.com/ Anyway, if that doesn't tug at your heart strings.....???????? I just feel for that sweet family and what they ar...

June 22 2008 - Our Mya Dee is 6

Image
(we lifted our blog from being private so that some of our family who can't access it anymore could still watch the montage of Mya for a day or so). Can't believe where the past 6 years went. It doesn't seem that long ago that we patiently waited her arrival and went through the bit of a roller coaster while she was in the NICU. I remember the thoughts I had through that whole experience and I wish I knew then what I know now. I worried so much about her development and growth. She was a strong little girl right from the start! You wouldn't even know today.... of the little hurdles she had for those first 3 weeks. We love Mya so much. She brightens our home! She has such a spunky little personality and loves to be funny. She has loved her first year of Kindergarten and has learned so much. She has her own special taste in what she likes to wear and a strong little will when she sets her mind to something. She LOVES...and I mean LOVES....to do any sort of coloring, draw...

Friday June 20 2008 - Wow!

Image
That's about all I can say about these past couple weeks. Where have they gone???? Time is totally flying away on us and we are doing our best to keep up. First, we love having Lorin come down and make us his yummy Gyoza's! Seriously delicious. He was nice enough to leave some for us too so that's on the menu tonight!!! Thanks again Lorin. You were so generous to do ALL that!!!! And that chili oil is to seriously AMAZING!!! To die for! Great news in our fam! We've got a new baby cousin. Ray and Krissy had sweet little Lily join their family this week. She is a doll and we love everything about her....except of course for how far away she lives!!! Hmmmm....hello summer (hopefully...hello travelling!!!!). What else is new with us....???...... Mya could have got her cast off today. I didn't get the call in time and we had plans this afternoon so we'll do it Monday hopefully! Poor girl! I'm scared for what it will look (and smell) like when it comes off. ...

Wednesday June 11 2008 - Rain, Laughter and "Freekits"

I've about got my fill of rainy weather. I'm sure it's good for the gardens and the crops and all but I do miss the sun. No pictures this post. Shocking hey! I need to buy more batteries, cause Mya was searching for some for her "cd player" (which isn't a cd player at all....it's a plastic toy with princesses on it and plays pretend discs) so we borrowed the batteries from my camera for her "CD player". Seriously, as she ran away with her newly functioning music machine, I couldn't help but think "help" as I got a little glimpse of what I'm in for years down the road. I just hope she stays content with this little cd player for now (even though it plays the same thing over and over and over again. Seriously, I'm amazed how after 1 hour of listening to the same melody over and over .... it doesn't make her go insane as well???). So Dane is totally mobile. He's not up on all 4's crawling yet but he does the soldie...

June 7 2008 - Family Fun Walk/Run

Image
We woke up bright and early and braved the windy morning by particpating in the annual 5 k walk/run. Ava had a cramp and got to be carried for a while till it went away. As if! jokes. Overall it was pretty fun (cold) but fun!!!!

Friday June 6 2008 - Ode to Whisper

At the very unfortunate death of our cousin fish, I'd like to offer up this poem in remembrance of a fish....who's life was at sadly cut too short. My name was Whisper I was a fish I was starved to death against my wish Ironically my owner called himself "fish" What a joke, I'd still be alive if he'd have left me inside my nice plastic dish! And so from my watery grave I speak out..... against the injustice, I seemed to have been dealt. So all you other fish beware, my advise to you is this unless you dream of the porcelain pool swim clear of that man named "fish"!!!!! You'll always be remembered Whisper! We would never have replaced you if you lived in our home! Whisper's life will live on in our memories FOREVER!!!!

Wednesday June 4 2008 - Lots going on...

Image
So it's been a while since I've blogged last. Lots has been happening. Most exciting we've had 2 cousins be married this past month as well as a new baby cousin born (my sister had a baby boy!!!). Anyway, so it seems like lately there's always been something fun going on. Here's a couple shots from Ava's track and field day. How fun. We all went to cheer her on. In this picture, I ran up to sneak a shot and the gun went off to start the race right as I was taking the picture. I had to say "oh, sorry Ava....run.....run!!!". So, she lost that one but she had a lot of fun. It's funny cause at this age she still isn't' into the whole competition thing and was just as happy to do the task and hurry back to play with friends. It was a great day and Dane slept in his sling the entire time. Thanks buddy!! So I missed taping the first jump she did where she made it, but I got this one on tape. Looks like we'll have to hold off on the Beijing Su...
